Aqualisa – Modular Exhibition a working shower & elegant bathroom theme for Screwfix Live
The background
Aqualisa approached us with a 5x4m stand space booked for Screwfix Live in Farnborough. The task was to promote their key shower products, incorporate a live demo, run a competition and facilitate subscription to their “Installers Club” all in the same space. So the first thing we did was challenge ourselves to put a working shower on the stand…
The solution
Aqualisa wanted to show the workings of their shower pump, so we created a shower cubicle back wall and lit showcase that showed the working unit. The cubicle itself was viewable from three sides to create maximum visual impact and ensure visitors could get up close to Aqualisa’s key products. With no access to mains plumbing, we elevated the shower and enclosed a hidden reservoir underneath the shower tray.
Elegant tile effect graphics lined the cubicle and to continue with “setting the scene” of an aspirational and elegant bathroom, the tile graphics were run along the adjacent wall which featured recessed LED strip lit shelves for towel storage.
A further five example shower systems were mounted on bespoke display boards along the back wall of the stand. These were attached using split batons, making them interchangeable and were highlighted by LED Halo lighting around the edges of each display board to draw visitor attention.
More about the stand
We incorporated the competition into the stand with an integrated bespoke “hose box” recessed into the back wall. This was visible through an acrylic panel and highlighted using animated pixel lighting. Entries could be made via a “post box” cut into the back wall above the box, or via an electronic form completed using the 43” mounted touchscreen that sat above the hose box.
The screen also facilitated the recruitment of subscribers to their “Installers Club”. Again, this could be done via an electronic form on the touchscreen or from three iPads mounted onto the front counter.
The counter featured two integrated 32” screens advertising the competition and subscription. Ample storage was integrated into the counter for giveaways and literature and it was finished with bespoke colour tops and LED lit base.
Lighting played an important role in creating the aspirational, quality feel that the brand wanted to portray, so down-lighting was integrated into the pelmet throughout the stand and included zone one lighting in the shower cubicle.
Cables for the “tech” were run from an on-site server to ensure reliability on the day, avoiding the common issue of poor venue Wi-Fi or expensive broadband. These were then hidden beneath a raised floor, which was finished with bathroom tile effect lino.
The entire stand stood at 3.9m including the logo header, created using bespoke cut letters mounted on locators and up-lit to draw maximum attention in the hall.
