Compass – A sustainable exhibition stand set ablaze
The background
Compass are an insurance specialist and regular exhibitor who’ve previously used props to give their exhibition space some life but this time they wanted the stand to go with a bang.
Exhibiting at the Great Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home (Trade) Show, the compass team had a vision of what they wanted but didn’t know if it was achievable. “A caravan set on fire”!
Obviously we didn’t want to actually set a caravan on fire, so we came up with a solution utilising our reusable modular frame system to create a static caravan.
The Solution
We created custom graphics of caravan cladding showing scorch marks and fire damage which dressed the framework.
A lot of storage was required on the stand, so we utilised the inside of the caravan and dressed one of our doors in distressed fired damaged graphics, this kept all the brochures and merchandise out of sight, keeping the stand clean and tidy.
To get some animation on the stand we used a TV mounted portrait in a window, this showed a rolling video of flames that really highlighted the message that “Compass Insurance is blazing a trail in the insurance industry”.
To create the whole holiday park concept, we added a low fenced off decking area to the front of the caravan and used camping furniture to create a quirky meeting area for visitors to the stand. The drinks serving area and fridge were cleverly disguised as a gas BBQ to the back of the stand, again using our reusable framework and graphics.
More about the stand
To complete the theme, we covered the walls with large graphics of holiday park scenes and dressed the floor in astroturf.
Everything on the stand is able to be reused for future events, keeping exhibitions sustainable and making the budget go further.
